Recently i attended Business Startup, the United Kingdom's biggest event for small businesses at Olympia, London, which highlighted opportunities for Business startups, social entrepreneurs and overseas business opportunities. The delightful thing i must point out is the fact that global economies are dominated by companies that can deliver thier products effectively and efficiently online.
I attended several seminars during the main day of the two-day event but one in particular caught my attention due to its focus on effective marketing using the internet. The company is called The Select and I had the priviledge of speaking with the young and affable Managing Director, Benjamin Fountain who explained that he started his company with no money!
According to Wikipedia:
Drop shipping is a supply chain management technique in which the retailer does not keep goods in stock, but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to wholesalers, who then ship the goods directly to the customer . The retailers make their profit on the difference between the wholesale and retail price. With this little intro, it might interest a lot of the youth population who use the blog as a means not only as a means for expressing themselves but also for staying in touch with other friends. This growing awareness and fondness for the use of blogs and other social networks as a means of expression is also capable of earning a decent income. Mind you you might not be able to "lock" into the tidal wave if you lack an international debit card (available in a lot of countries around the world now, including Nigeria), thus pop into any internationally recogisnised card member bank (Mastercard, VISA e.t.c.) and get an account opened. Many more also offer the attractive option of pay as you go debit cards thus making it easier to get those online purchases.
So get out there and spread the word and start making money by getting your blog or website to work for you!
