As technology becomes more interactive and the world around us shrinks and gets smaller not just being a global village but now more of a global addressbook (my words), it becomes more pertinent than ever to lock into the money spinning world of the internet.
Pick the book written about the mind boggling "Google Economy" called the Google Story and you will realise one big FACT - you're losing out if you're not only just connected to the internet, but also if you're not putting out content of value for other people through that simple WEB SITE! It's that simple. Google founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin realised that by harnessing the power of the internet through paying people to use thier own sites to advertise content related to that site in particular, they could make tons of money. Hold on, did i hear you say how? To back this claim, Google if you may know, has never had to borrow money from any bank for whatever reason. Yet they've been growing in leaps and bounds all because of on thing - the possibility for other people to make thier money making machine continue ringing while they are fast asleep.
I will refrain from going into the details of how Google makes money (click here to read how you can) from paying other people to advertise on thier own website, so I will advise you buy or borrow a copy of The Google Story to understand the phenomenon of Google. Now, that was the preamble, the sweet part of this whole post is to open your eyes to the possiblity of earning income simply by filling your website with content that other people will be interested in looking up. Simply put, get a WEBSITE! Okay, i accept that it's not easy to fill a website with content, but have you even tried it? Oh, i can hear you complaining about how that computer guy told you that it would cost you an arm and a leg to register your website. The truth be told, a normal website without much frills these days can be gotten for less than N2,500/$15/£7. That your computer guy will never let you knwo that so that he can make a killing while the sun shines. Go to http://blogger.com/ to register for a blog for free and once you're ready to convert it to a proper domain name i.e. http://www.meandyou.com/ , all you need do is to click on the settings button and register the domain name for a fee of just $10!
To overcome the fear of content, I am willing to make available for any interested person, information packs explaining how you can gather content for any book or website. Also, look up ihavedotcoms a website that explains and simplifies the process of generating income for your website (which you must build first). The key is to get your website registered as fast as possible and make hay while the sun shines. With the possibility these days of doing search in Nigerian languages on Google, the sky is the limit with technology!
